COLDWELL BANKER COMMERCIAL UPCHURCH REALTY AND PARTNERING SPONSORS COOKED AND SERVED BAR-B-QUE FOR LOCAL FIRST RESPONDERS
October 2020 (Athens, GA) – Coldwell Banker Commercial Upchurch Realty, Coldwell Banker Upchurch Realty, Fortson, Bentley & Griffin, P.A., Barron’s Rental Center, and Beech Haven Baptist Church joined forces on October 8, 2020, to show their support for the First Responders in Athens-Clarke and Oconee Counties.
On Wednesday afternoon the grills were fired-up and over 400 pounds of pork began to slow cook overnight. The meal consisted of chopped pork BBQ, homemade baked beans, coleslaw, bread and a cookie. On Thursday, REALTORS ®, Lawyers, and staff served over 200 meals while the team adhered to environmentally safe precautions.
“As the Broker of Coldwell Banker Commercial Upchurch Realty, I was overwhelmed by the response I received from my agents” said Charlie Upchurch, President and Broker of Coldwell Banker Commercial Upchurch Realty. “They showed great appreciation and wanted to repay the First Responders for all the good they do, especially during this difficult year.”
Upchurch contacted his dear friend, Michael J. McCleary, of Fortson, Bentley & Griffin, P.A., and was thrilled to hear McCleary was eager to participate in another bar-b-que. “We are so appreciative of our First Responders here in the community and are thankful for all that they do for us.” said McCleary. “This was an easy way for us to tell them ‘thank you’.”

We would also like to thank Barron’s Rental Center for providing us with the tent and Beech Haven Baptist Church for providing the location of the drive-through style event.
